Monthly climate averages for Yemen, temperatures, rainfall and the best time to visit.

Climate overview of Yemen

The climate of Yemen varies depending of the height. The country can be divided into three climatic zones. It's mostly desert, hot and humid along the west coast. Temperate in the western mountains affected by seasonal monsoon and extraordinarily hot, dry, harsh and desert in the east.

Summer months in Yemen are warm to extremely hot. Temperatures of 30°C (86°F) to 40°C (104°F) during the day are very normal. The only place where the temperature is tempered is in the mountain areas.

Along the coast, especially in the southwest, there is also high relative humidity. This makes the heart of summer unpleasant to travel around. The best time to visit Yemen is between September and October and between April and May.
