Gers are often nestled in picturesque locations, such as at the base of rocky hills amidst the vast steppe. Nearby, about 50 meters (164 ft) away, stands a solitary wooden structure - the traditional squat toilet. It's simply a hole in the ground encased in wood. Despite the initial adjustment, this toilet arguably offers one of the most impressive views worldwide.

Best time to visit Mongolia

Mongolia's lengthy subarctic winter can be quite challenging for travelers. With the arrival of summer, the snow in the Gobi Desert gives way to sandstorms.
